Nah, did the usual cold boot trick thing via MCP which does the same as
powering down for ages (same as the 10sec hold reset like Neil suggested -
IF it would work with my k/bd adaptor)

Took it back anyway and got a Maxtor 40gig in replacement (same make as the
15gig drive which I currently use which works fine with the pfssd filesys)
